月刊騎兵魂【げっかんきへいだましい】
世界最古の雑誌。
紀元前20世紀頃創刊とされ、創刊号は1849年夏にイギリスのオースティン・ヘンリー・レヤード卿率いる調査隊がメソポタミア北部のニネヴェを調査した際に、アッシュールバニパルの宮殿及びセンナケリブ王の南西宮殿で発見された王宮附属図書館の22,000枚に及ぶ粘土板の蔵書に含まれていた。現在も大英博物館1階9号室で古アッシリア語（楔形文字）による粘土板を確認することができる。
残念ながら現存しているのは目次のみであるが、アレクサンドリア図書館には多数のバックナンバーがパピルスの写本により所蔵され、数度の火災と破壊を免れていた事がガイウス・プリニウス・セクンドゥスの書簡から確認されている。
しかしながら5世紀頃にローマ帝国衰退と共に散逸し、15世紀以前のものはウルビーノ公フェデリーコ・ダ・モンテフェルトロの蔵書目録に数点が記録されているのみとなっていた。
2008年にバグダッド近郊で IED処理任務中の米陸軍爆発物処理班により偶然第3号の断片が発見され、専門家の調査によるとカデシュの戦い以前の会戦に関する詳細な記録について言及されており、近年再び考古学会の注目を集めている。

Monthly Magazine "Cavalry Spirit"

The oldest magazine in the world is said to have been founded around the twentieth century BC.

The first issue of the magazine was found among the collection of 22,000 clay tablets in the Royal Library discovered at Sennacherib's South-West Palace and Ashurbanipal's Palace during an investigation of Nineveh, in north Mesopotamia, by the Briton Sir Austen Henry Layard and his team during the summer of 1849. It is still possible to see the clay tablets written in Old Assyrian (in cuneiform) in room 9 on the first floor of the British Museum.

Unfortunately all that remains is the table of contents, but many back numbers written on papyrus scripts were kept in the Library of Alexandria and Gaius Plinius Secundus tells us in his letters of how they avoided frequent disasters and destruction.

However, with the fall of the Roman Empire around the fifth century AD the first issue was scattered and ultimately lost and the only mention of pre-1500's issues was in the book collection catalog of Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino.

In 2008, a fragment of the third issue was stumbled upon by the Bomb Disposal Team of the American Army during the disposal of an improvised explosive device near Baghdad. According to a specialist investigation it refers to the details of battles pre-dating the Battle of Kadesh and in recent years the issue has again gained interest in Archeological circles.
