This is actually the second picture the artist has done of this character, but I haven't gotten around to bringing the first one over. Given that this is the inmproved version I'm wondering if it's worth it or whether I should just bring over the commentary from the first picture (which has her character info).

Ogitsune seems to be on a roll these past few weeks.

Star of David pupil?... I don't like that religion has now come into Strike Witches.

T34/38: I just brought it over, you can find it using the parent post option. Personally I kind of favor the new version.

Andy: It's not just the last few weeks, Ogitsune is prolific in general. Do you know how much of his stuff I haven't brought over yet?

If that IS a Star of David over her eye, then that more or less confirms what I thought - she's a descendent of Erhard Milch or (more likely) a witch counterpart. Milch was one of the very, very few high-ranking German Jewish officers in the Wehrmacht.

...orrrrrrr, it's just there as a mystical symbol as anime/manga series are won't to do. The Star of David shows up a whole bunch without any religious or historical connotations.

You're perhaps thinking of hexagrams.

Sure, but given that Ogitsune tends to actually research this sort of stuff, and how most of the SW1991 witches are based on real people or other mainline SW characters, I doubt it's just a "hurr durr stars are kewl" move.

Come to think of it this star in her eye could simply be a Pentagram(essentially a Pagen Star that is often associated with "Wiccan's.)

It would be highly unlikely for it to be the Star of David since apparently in the strike witches history "Disturbances" (read "disturbances" as "Neuroi") in the province of Judea during 0029 resulted in it's residence dying out.

In other words the Jewish people were wiped out by the Neuroi long, long, long before the 1940's...

So yeah...make of that what you will...
