The collective name of a book duology by English author Lewis Carroll as well as a large media franchise which resulted from them.
The first book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), tells the story of a girl named Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871) is a continuation in which Alice goes through the titular looking glass and enters a world that works like a chess board. Once again, Alice finds various peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures and has to deal with their eccentricities.
