crew neck
A top with a round, close-fitting neckline, of the kind commonly seen on T-shirts. It does not have a collar and it fits close to the neck, without revealing much skin.
Contrast with v-neck, which has a V-shaped point in front, or with scoop neck, which is much lower cut.
The crew neck gets its name from its association with rowing teams and other athletic crews who originally wore this style of shirt.
