A humanoid character (such as an android, furry, monster girl, humanoid mecha, elf, etc) being depicted as an ordinary human (or at least more human-like than usual).
This typically involves the reduction, if not outright removal, of non-human features such as body fur, horns, wings, colored skin or pointy ears. With furry characters, they are often turned into humans with animal ears.
For characters that were not already humanoid, such as animals, creatures, and non-humanoid robots, use personification instead.
