insas
The INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) is a series of 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle. Designed in mid-1980s, when the Indian Army decided to gradually phase out the locally-produced L1A1 rifles from service.
INSAS rifles' mechanism is based on the AKM's gas-operated rotating bolt mechanism, and also featuring a FAL-like gas regulator. Hence their appearance resembles an AK and FAL hybrid.
This tag currently also applies to its longer, light machine gun variant.
