The protagonist of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. A kind-hearted girl who attends Mitakihara Middle School, raised by a loving family consisting of mother Kaname Junko, father Kaname Tomohisa, and younger brother Kaname Tatsuya. She often thinks of herself as ordinary and not special, but starts to consider being able to do more upon meeting the magical messenger Kyubey. Her birthday is on October 3rd.

Her short pink hair is tied into pigtails. She also has pink eyes.
