Japanese racehorse. Sired by Nice Dancer and foaled by Urakawa Miyuki.
Nice Nature was Japan's most successful racehorse to not have won any G1 races. (Deep Bond surpassed his earnings but only in 2023 and is still active. Nice Nature last raced in 1996. Stay Gold actually surpassed him before his only G1 win in 2001.) His most notable feat is finishing 3rd in three consecutive Arima Kinens, earning him the nickname of "Bronze Collector" and giving him the popularity of an underdog.
His modern day relevance, aside from being the model for Umamusume's Nice Nature, which did gave him renewed popularity, is his tremendous longevity for a thoroughbred horse. Born on April 16 1988, he passed away on May 30 2023. He lived to the ripe old age of 35 years and 44 days, making him JRA's 4th oldest graded winner.
He was a bay horse with no markings. In his racing prime, he often raced with his signature red and green hood emblazoned with his name or his initials.
