yorita yoshino

An iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls character in the Passion (Yellow Sun) category. She is a mysterious girl who goes out of her way to help strangers, speaking and acting as if she's more than just an ordinary person. Her manner of speech, in addition to being very slow and soft, is highly elaborate and old-fashioned, making her sound more like a historical priestess than a modern-day girl: in particular she is known for ending her sentences with でして (deshite), which is regarded as a formal or old-fashioned form of です (desu).

Yoshino has an interest in shrines and temples, which suggests that before becoming an idol she was a miko - however it is heavily implied (due to her ability to resolve people's wishes and find lost items) that she is some form of supernatural entity, possibly the goddess Benzaiten (one of the Seven Lucky Gods or shichifukuji), as several of Yoshino's illustrations show her having a connection to water; in addition to fortune, music and words, Benzaiten is the goddess of water. If that is the case, then the Producer successfully talked a goddess into becoming an idol - although it's possible that she does it just because she enjoys being worshipped.
