She should have known that Animes these day are only 12 episodes long. (With a few exceptions)
I still remember the good ol' days where 90% of animes were 24-26 episodes and 12 episode series where called half series and only appeared once or twice a season.

This one's actually bizarre. Its almost unheard of for a series like this to split itself in this manner. Also, more than a few exceptions. There are 4-6 animes on average each season with 24-26 episodes. (Not including the ones that started airing the last season resulting in upwards of ten of them showing each season amongst the usual 40-60 things airing each season. Really, check Anichart if you don't believe me. Granted, the current season at the time of this comment's kinda scarce on content with only 42 things airing.) Its also not that they've become less common. They're about as common as they've always been.
Its just that perspective makes it feel like its changed since most of the ones that are remembered are 24-26 episodes or longer and we don't really become aware of the typical amount that comes out each season until we get older. Though, given how I feel like I'm one of the only people on the internet that actually knows how to check the average anime season's lineup rather than just try to make observations through what little anime I see/find out about through hearsay, it perhaps appears that most westerners still aren't entirely aware of what the typical anime season lineup actually looks like.
