Am I the only one who thinks mystery boss character is wearing a hijab?

No... She followed me here too! WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE, RIN?! WHY MUST I FIGHT YOU SO MANY TIMES?!

Somebody should make a series of patches that makes Orin the midboss of every single stage in every game from Subterranean Animism stage four onward.

I swear that the thing she's holding in the screenshot is a sword. Considering that the story of the game apparently involves the PC's weapons suddenly coming to life, it would make sense that the character they are facing is some sort of sword youkai. We are still talking about Stage 1 though, so she's probably a semi-related random.

That was my very first thought when I saw the new boss. (Also the tail seems to be one of Sakuya's knives)

It's possible it's one of Sakuya's knives and the screen just makes it look like she's holding it.

This can't be Rin. She has a blue bow on the back of her head, not cat ears.

The blade looks too long to be a sword.

EDIT: On the second thought, it's probably Sakuya's knife. Some people are saying this, and I'm starting to think they're right...

EDIT 2: I just took a better look at the screenshot, and it is Sakuya's knife after all...

You need a lot of imagination to actually see cat tails here.

Sekibanki might not look like Rin, but that doesn't man that her Spell Cards aren't as annoying as Rin's ones.

I wholly agree. I was hoping to have seen the last of Rin's Zombie Fairy styled attacks, only to get chased by Sekibanki's head...

As someone who got into Touhou shortly after DDC was released, it is super weird to see people speculating about the thing that she's holding, with absolutely nobody suggesting the possibility that she isn't holding anything at all...
