I think he is pretty reasonable because although there is some friendly youkai like them, there is still some more dangerous youkai out there and even they can't guarantee the safety of younger Marisa too if she's still with them.

Rinnosuke is concerned for the safety of the youkai. He also knows that Marisa would feel terrible if someone were to be seriously injured.

I'm pretty sure that dangerous youkai in and around the Forest of Magic know not to mess with Marisa unless they want her master to make an example of them.
