    That makes me suspect that she wears her eyepatch as part of her chuunibyou.

    The original reason is that her searchlight was shot out during the war. (With characters like Furataka, the eye is the searchlight.)

    But because of her personality and eyepatch, she and sometimes Kiso are given the "Chuuni" fan interpretation.
