I looked into it a bit, and Devil Survivor is another Shin Megami Tensei spin off (I am not certain if it is a spin off in the sense that it is not on the normal platform, or in the way in which Persona is a spin off). I've added shin_megami_tensei to the tag listing, until I or someone else find out more.
It's a spinoff in the sense that it isn't related to the main series directly, but still "resembles" it. It was released on the DS in Japan not too long ago.
