To me, english food is a lot like East Slavic cooking. It may not be big on fancy flavors and all that jazz, but it is filling and the kind of food you would want after a long day at work.

English desserts are good. English baked and fried foods and roasts are also quite excellent. English boiled-to-death veggies and unsalted rubbery eggs (which you're supposed to add salt and pepper to later), not so much.
Geez, healthy foods aren't supposed to taste bad.
