I don't even know, there's so much I want to say and all these complicated feelings. First off, this might be the greatest season in pokemon I've ever seen and I've been watching, and hating, the show as I grew with it. The fact that XY&Z was able to catch my attention again(I gave up after Hoenn really), relighting that fire I had for pokemon that I didn't even knew I had, as well as even made me genuinely like Ash and the rest of the cast is just....amazing. I now don't care about having to sit through all the other seasons just for this one, or even if future seasons sucks(SM looks fun though), this is just....awesome.
To tell the truth, the main reason I got into the show was because of Amourshipping and I kinda jumped the Ship when Serena looked like she just lost her chance(around ep 45). I gave up on her and the Ship and was more excited about SM, with Ash and his (maybe) harem shenigans to come, especially hoping for Lillie. So...well played anime writers. Very well played.
Granted, the show did have some moments that piss me off, (really hated some of the team rocket moments and that motherfucker Alain. Fuck that asshole) and I did find Ash a bit strange and boring since he seemed so mature and different than the past goofy Ash. I also hated many of the NPCs like the gym leaders, but only because I found myself actually liking Ash so much I hate seeing him having to lose to them. I was actually on his side and rooted for him for the most parts.
I'm glad for what they did, for all the effort they put into it, I'm glad that I was able to be there to see it and I'm glad I was able to be proven wrong on what I thought it would be.
I can't believe I'm saying this but; I fucking love the Pokemon XY&Z anime.
I also couldn't help but laugh(and get mad) at Ash's reaction after it had happen. This really is one of the best (as well as most infuriating and boring at times) incarnation of Ash yet. I like cool and awesomely mature Ash but also miss goofy and childish Ash.
Damn shame this had to be overshadowed by Red's appearance in Sun and Moon.
Funny thing is, I see a fair amount of both. Today's news on the game and the anime were great. I was even jokingly-hoping Monster Hunter would include a Legendary in MH5 or what have you just for shits 'n giggles (since news of both series were announced on the same day).
Even if itll be a long time we see her or she doesn't show up i will take what i can get. This brought a huge grin to my face. The xy & z series was a blast and its a satisfying way to end it.
