Well, it puts a new spin on what they do with the stuff they don't use as trophies. Why NOT sell the leftovers? I'm sure keeping their ships running aint cheap.
But what is the corpses? - Killed youkai? - Humans? They sure look human shaped.
In either case, I'm not sure Gensokyo residents would feel ok about that, but Aya and her gang doesn't seem to mind. Weird.
It is generally accepted that some part of the Yokais need to consume human flesh. Not sure whether it is still as prevalent after the danmaku rules were implemented, but considering that in canon Yukari allows suicidal people to "get lost" into Gensokyo to be consumed I am pretty sure there are still good number of Yokais that need to feed on humans.
