Graduation is just a fancy way of saying they're leaving their idol job (I think). From what I've heard, Kiryu has an alt account that has nothing to do with her Hololive channel, so it's not like she's completely dropping YouTube or anything.

I don't know about other case , but it case of Coco , i believe that the strict rules that apply to vtuber lately cause her to stop being able to create contents since alots of her contents are on gray zone (but non sexual?). As hololive become bigger , it's become harder for her to work freely like before. And other problem is the west Taiwan anti zombies who used Taiwan VPN to watch youtube keep harrasting her chat box for nearly a year. Or she just tired of being Vtuber and want to do other stuffs , who know.

However, based on a May 31st chat stream, she asked if she could also be a manager too, but was told if she were to become a manager, she'd have to quit being a vtuber (likely due to how time-consuming both jobs are). the harassing is most likely the case I guess, as the subscriber count goes bigger there will be more harassment, to the point people can't stand it anymore and decide to leave for good.

Both her becoming a staffer and it not being YT's policies was jossed. She'll keep in touch with the HL crew and maybe do contractual work (probably for HoloAlt). She's leaving while on good terms with Cover (according to Suisei), but YT's policies were likely too constraining creatively. So she's becoming an independent streamer/vTuber instead.

On a positive speculation, some said she wanted to move on to do other stuffs as well. Some still fear about a lot of things, but i guess its also the quick expand its was affected her creativity. SO instead of push hiatus or rework things, she decide to just booked things out and give a little retirement, probably until things mellows it down, included with youtube been a bias prick to everyone else who isn't a brand. There is some things who are for sure and are the fact who her twitter and YT account will still up with everything, and by words of Sora talking about this, she will still implies to had the door open like Coco implied Aloe has it too in case she wants to comes back an any point in time.
