  • Can you guess which protagonist in the two universes got the short end of the stick?

It still weird to me that they replaced Lillie in the cave scene with someone else in Ultra, I did find it a bit funny though.

    Version differences.

In the original Sun/Moon you went to this island to find the Sun/Moon flute used to 'Summon' the legendary beast to the special altar near the middle of the game, but on the Ultra Version you get nothing, while Lillie remains on the main island. GF removed the scene probably after critics of said scene looks like a love confession, and since Pokemon is a game for rated ESRB E which main target audience was kids (heh) that won't fly. That being said, Ultra version cuts a LOT of things...

Could be because they are kids AND/OR because they can be both girls depending on player choice?
    Hard to say...

I thoroughly enjoyed my one on one time with Lillie. USUM were ambiguously advertised as continuations, fleshing out an already established Alola Narrative. I envisioned more of a BW2 than a "3rd version". As mentioned above, they cut and contorted content instead. I was big mad! I missed Lillie's character and others as initially developed. This art humorizes that experience well.

Hey, having ambiguous yuri flirting with Lillie is a selling point, damnit! I mean, any kid too young to understand will just interpret it as "friendship", anyway, which is why they left it that way in the original.
