Tbf, there doesn't seem to be much blood. This definitely seems like an ugly wound that will likely scar badly, but I don't think it is lethal.
Of course there could be substantial internal injuries, though since Hoshino seems to be able to move the spine appears to have survived this. Can't speak for the squishier parts, but again, I think there would be more overall damage for folk of Kivotos to be taken down.
Yeah Hoshino can just walk off getting her center mass blasted hard enough to cause that much damage
Have you ever gotten bad scrape wounds? Those wounds look horrible, but they are far from lethal. You still have to get them treated well to prevent, well infection, minimize scarring (still going to end up with ugly scars) and so on.
Yes, it is painful, yes it is ugly as all hell, yes it is definitely mentally scarring for whomever might have unintentionally caused the incident, but is it lethal if treated correctly? Very rarely. Infection does still kill people on the regular, but a lot less than mere 100 years ago. And the girls in kivotos seem to be tougher than normal humans by a fair degree.
Since there is very minimal amount of blood relative to the size of the wound(s), major arteries and veins appear to have avoided being damaged or opened. The greatest danger would be internal injuries, but considering that Hoshino didn't appear to be turning pale in the other image, I do reckon she isn't in too critical of a state.
HOWEVER! One thing to note is that Hoshino's halo appears to be fading if we contrast her's with Shiroko's halo, though that might be due to her being about to lose consciousness rather than dying, especially considering how people in-setting talk about "breaking halos" not "fading halos away".
Either way, still a good idea to take her immediately to the nearest hopital for a checkup and treatment. And if google translate is to be trusted (very debatable) it says "I was treated like crazy after this" that is exactly what they did.
Of course, the translation could be incorrect and it is referring Shiroko losing her mind rather than Hoshino being treated.

Scrapes = multiple bullet wounds centermass. You heard it head folks.

Don't be disingenuous, you know what his point was.
Kivotos students can take large explosions with little more than scratches, it took a warhead to incapacitate Hina. Bullets rarely even leave a mark. You don't know that this injury is caused by bullet wounds, nor do you know how deep it actually is. There's a good amount of blood, but if it were deeper than surface level there would certainly be more.

In fact, we can be pretty sure she wasn't blasted through and/or riddled with bullets, what we see of the wound is consistent with a cut/slash or scrape, and judging by the first image of the duo it doesn't go all the way through. Also the commentary implies she survives as in Japanese it's "There was a lot of medical treatment after this" with the same phrasing as the "They had lots of sex afterwards" meme.

that and iirc isnt the only way to permanently kill the students is to destroy their halo?
Hoshino Senpai...Blood...We need to stop it now...
