I thought there would be people with this sentiment. Still, there are hints of this particular relationship in gensoukoumuten's other works as well and I was wondering when someone would bring it up.
Doesn't need to be construed as a romance though. It's two professionals bonding over a crisis situation.
As much of a rabid yuri shipper as i am, i have absolutely no problem with these kinds of ships when they are written as well and likable as gensoukoumuten does.
As aware as I am about the prevailing shipping sentiments, I just can't see gensoukoumuten writing yuri. Note that ZUN himself doesn't write yuri either (I don't think he can even grasp the concept). That doesn't leave many options for romance within the canon cast.
There's also been no steam in these stories at all (apart from that one oni sumo panel), so I don't think we'll see any serious romances.
Thanks Mr_GT for uploading and Glasnost for translating... and I really wish I knew Japanese so I give Gensoukoumuten the thanks he very much deserves.

Yes, my preference for fictional lesbians over fictional heterosexual couples must be completely incomprehensible to you. I can't fathom the basis for it myself, but there you go.
Also, you're really in no way qualified to judge anyone, here.

What about him? Besides, IoYaY is a comedy, which means I don't give nearly as much of a fuck.
General responses:
My distaste for OCs is just about even with my distaste for het. Take that however you like. To whoever downvoted my politely worded and inoffensive initial comment, I live on in quotes, and you can suck it.
It's true that, if I wanted to close my eyes to reality, I could interpret this as nonromantic. But the entire thing (from Koakuma's comments towards the beginning, to the suitors, to the bra exposure, and so on) has been structured as a romance, and I like my eyes open.
That's good. You don't like het. Still, popping in just to say "I don't like hetero." is bad taste and a waste of time all around. Same goes for pretty much everything else. Simple rules are "You don't like it? Move on." In the end, every single thing is just fanwork and getting too emotional over every little thing created by the fandom is simply foolish.
Now then. Excellent work as always from Gensoukoumuten.
Gensoukoumuten surely knows his shoujo romance tropes. Perfect execution! 10/10, would love to see another touhou's heart stolen by a handsome devil with a heart of gold.

And this is why I like my eyes open. If they're closed, it's harder to see things.
My personal opinion is that it's wonderful Gensou dared to add an OC in such a role, since he probably has to know how many people feel about it. I don't mind it at all at least when it's done this well. This isn't like some foolish fanfic writer whose marysue overpowers all original characters. This is good stuff by a good artist.
I personally don't like the fact touhou has no actual male characters for many different reasons, also, but that's another issue.
well first there's rinnosuke, and who are you to call somebody foolish, there's line beetween opinion and stuff you should keep for yourself i don't really like original character, but you didn't see me insulting every artist work with original character
Well, if you read what I said, I said that everyone can have an opinion. Everyone's opinion is fine. I think opinions can be expressed and thus I told what my opinion was, many people had given their opinions on this already.
Only one I called foolish are those fanfiction writers who add marysue OC's. I assume you agree with that. I didn't call anyone on this thread foolish at any point.
well, i guess,we go to this site for having fun ,not to having some argument,i didn't even knew what does OC mean, even if i dont really like gensou, i know he is a great artist, enjoy his work
The long and short of it is I'm honestly glad that these installments have the time that it takes between them to get. ( which doesn't even seem to be very much at all in the grand scheme of things, maybe they're already out and just waiting to be acquired, whatever. )
This may be restating the obvious to some, but I think that this is a labor of love for this man, and in every line, every word, and the message in every panel and bubble conveys it, and it's a delight to get to read Gensoukoumuten's work. I absolutely cannot wait for the next one, but as it seems to keep yielding stories that touch on such a powerful level, I think I can suffer it for what's at the end of the road. Thanks for the translations and uploads as ever!
As a crazy yuri-shipper with blood-lusting hate of random male OCs that can burn in hell for all I care...
I. loved. this. story and male OC. *hell freezes* It doesn't state them as a romantic pairing, but he was so well-written and designed (especially for an OC where they usually are some shmuck with no redeeming qualities other than "being there" in my opinion), that I wouldn't have mind in the slightest if they were. Heck, I may have found a new ship, kuddos gensoukoumuten.

Dream Item AvenueA tourist attraction and launching ground for fashion fads in Makai. It truly is a street of dreams, packed tightly with brands popular the world over. At the top of the list is the home office of "Yumeko", a super-high-class brand longed for by young ladies throughout Gensou Land.
"Dream Item Avenue" is actually just a popular name; the articles bought in this area of desire are called "dream items" by the young ladies, and so at some point, that name apparently became applied to the location.
The young ladies who visit this street long to window-shop while eating gelato with their boyfriends.
