Tag Alias: lapcup

Aliasing wakamezake to lapcup.

Reason: A look through both tags shows they're the same thing. Lapcup has more uses and is more likely to be known/used than wakamezake since it's in English.

On the other hand, "wakamezake" is an actual phrase in use in Japanese, whereas "lapcup" is not commonly heard in English.

Wakemezake, like that eating sushi off a girl thing (the name of which escapes me, again) is a distinctly japanese fetish, and thus should be left in Japanese.

I never heard of either phrase till right now.
I have to say keep it in Japanese. Thinking of lapcup makes me think of racing trophies.

I did find the term "Mound of Venus" as a lap cup.

I'd be inclined to use the Japanese personally. Established concept/phrase vs. made up English equivalent. It's not like we were using "ringo" instead of "apple" or anything. We do have a policy of using English tags when possible, but that's only really if there's a translation to use.

My decision would be to alias lapcup and lap_cup to wakamezake but I'll let discussion go a little longer first. Mostly because I don't know what we would do with bust_cup. Even if we keep lapcup I'd be aliasing it to lap_cup to match bust_cup.

We used to :). But I'm definitely for keeping wakamezake, it's like translating kimono.

I really like the term wakamezake. It's clever. lap_cup (and bust_cup, but what can you do) are sort of vulgar by comparison.

Well, *is* there a term for bust_cup? There had to be, Japanese has a term for everything.

Bumping, since someone made a wiki for lap_cup that defines it practically identical to wakamezake.

I'm not surprised, since it's the same thing. One way or another, we're gonna have to alias it. FWIW, my preference is stated above.

As is mine, failing grade or no.
