string_bikini gets aliased?

Posted under General

Just the other day I tried to set a "string_bikini" tag, but this got changed automatically to "side-tie_bikini." It goes without saying that not all string bikinis are side-tie (that is, they might be elasticized so as not to require tying per se), so how may I propose a change allowing "string_bikini" to exist alone?

Isn't that just a thong? By the way, you could just edit your post instead of double posting.

Nope, a thong bikini bottom does not have to be as narrow as a string. It could be as wide as two fingers all around, and possibly wider in the front.

Thanks for the edit reminder.

Sounds like a plan! Yet another way to spend ill-gotten time at Danbooru. >:-)

EDIT: In the meantime, could I ask you to examine the following posts? These are just a few (in my continuing search) that I felt deserve mention.

String_bikinis that are not necessarily side-tie_bikinis:

post #372701 (along with one that IS)

On top of that, there is the matter of "thong" which I have not successfully distinguished from "string bikini." Fine, but see the chart at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thong_(clothing) ...

I've deleted string_bikini.

Ok. sorry for bring this thing up again, but I've been looking for bikinis that are not tagged as such and I came across with this string_bikini thing... and... well... I don't see anything that's particulary distintive in the pics tagged with it. I tried to check the wiki, but there's none. So... my point here is... what's special in string_bikini?
Why not just make an alias like

string_bikini -> bikini.
