Protip: Racism is likely to get you banned.

Posted under General

Possibly for a long time.

Possibly for thousands of years, depending on how long I feel like holding the '9' key down in the 'duration' field.

This is not /b/, so read howto:comment. If you can't be better than that, you shouldn't be here. If you're trying to be funny, learn some new comedy.

I've banned two people in the past 24 hours for this. I'm happy to ban more if people want to keep at it. And for users who take the time to point out such comments via records or pms, thank you for alerting me.

I mean, I know what Racism is and everything but I just wanna make sure.

That isn't what prompted this warning, but depending on the context it can be just as bad. Though I don't want to get into a discussion about "what prejudice is worse" right now.

I know this is the internet and trash talk (and rampant xenophobia and homophobia for that matter) is considered "normal", but I'd really just like for everyone to be a little more polite in general. There's so much less drama that way, and it's a lot easier to isolate the true bad apples if their behavior stands out more.

But it's still really just the extreme cases I'm concerned about, because I neither want to nor have the time to go around acting like I'm the morality police. That would be fairly ridiculous. But if someone is, say, commenting on an image of a darkskinned character with "who posted the nigger?" they're fucking out of here.

And then some mod or contributor told me "racism isn't against the rules"

There's nothing in the rules that directly says "don't be racist."
But it's within the power of the mods to ban anybody who they think is detrimental to the site.
Hell, we could ban you for posting "lol" a few times.
UxU took it upon himself to post "damn niggers" more times than we found acceptable.
And, drop that talk like you have any 'right' to be on Danbooru. "Danbooru is in the wrong," my ass.

I had reccomended that a long time ago. But no one took me seriously. Without the ability to "ip ban" everyone is going to have the right to use Danbooru. And for that matter, destroy it.

And now you're going to set out to prove it or something?

Sheesh.

Pool vandalism. Cute. Will the changes magically go away when an admin unpersons his accounts, or will someone have to clean up?

I remember some users on a forum somewhere, far from Danbooru, complaining that pools, unlike tags, can't be as easily repaired as they are vandalized.

Perhaps it would have been much better if they had never mentioned that. I would have never even thought of it otherwise.

I believe albert added a mod only option to revert them when he added pool logging. So while it will have to be manually reverted, the pool will be fully intact afterward.

I sure hope what Suiseiseki mentions is true, because that's a lot of pool damage. ALL of Chibi-Miku? I'm very shocked.

I may rage (quietly, by myself, with no harm to the internet), but I'm not 12. Far far from it. *sigh*

Also, agreement with Fence's post.

It should be true, the history is there now at any rate, so it's trival to restore.

I asked because there have been tag vandals before who had their entire tagging history nuked, meaning the history clutter is gone and the edits are reverted, unless someone else have edited the tags subsequently.

If that will be the case with the pools, it's better not to touch them until an admin gets around to it.
