Tag Implication: warhammer -> weapon and other weapons

Implicating warhammerweapon.

Reason: Hammer used for war? Yeah.

Also, should we do
staffweapon?
Usually, unless you select auto-battle or are out of MP, it doesn't get used as a melee weapon, and I'm not sure it's universally considered a weapon, but may as well ask.

whipweapon?
Search seems to indicate we've not discussed this before. I don't think it need necessarily be lethal to be a weapon. Pain and incapacitation have have historically been alternative end goals.

brass_knucklesweapon
tonfaweapon
morning_starweapon
Seems pretty obvious

But I don't think a whip is a weapon because it has non-weapon uses, such as for horses, S&M, and so on.

Animal control, I'll concede, but some part of my point was that things don't stop being weapons just because someone derives sexual pleasure from using them or having them used on.

Other things I noticed:
arm_bladeweapon
jitteweapon
gunbladeweapon

Something should probably be done about the lamentably under-tagged tessen (which may be the same as a war_fan(?))

silence_glaivepolearm
sword_of_hisousword
(Probably some more named weapons)

post #893124: I'd argue we should tag the chui as it is. Any disagree?

post #892029: We should probably figure out what to call these snake-like weapons. Aside from Kyouko, Signum and ivy_valentine use one also.

post #891861: Weaponised hair. Whether by attached blade as here, or by the hair itself being used as such (millia_rage and apparently konjiki_no_yami). Yea/Nay?

We've discussed sword of hisou before, it is a no because it doesn't always look like a sword. This goes for all the toho weapons.

So far they have all been tagged as sword. In this case, the sword of hisou is always a sword, while other versions are less close to their weapons.

I think you have it somewhat backwards. Pretty much anything can in some form or another be used as a weapon, just because an item can be used as a weapon does not necessarily mean that it was created with the purpose of being a weapon. Things like whips are tools first and foremost. A kitchen knife is a tool, but it can be used as a weapon. I could stab and kill a person with a kitchen knife, but that doesn't mean that because it could be used for such a purpose that it is inherently a weapon. Likewise a whip was made for a purpose other than a weapon, it could potentially be used as a weapon, but that doesn't inherently mean it is a weapon.

If you want something similar, then look no further than the scythe tag. It's first and foremost function is a farming tool. If it was used as a weapon, then realistically they'd apparently reposition the blade so it's more like a spear. All the ones actually depicted though are just over popularized farming tools.

I'm against the staff implication. Mages carry them largely because it's a part of their image, sometimes with the excuse that it's a magical conduit or whatnot. Staffs are sometimes used as a mere walking stick for an elderly person. An implication would also make actual weaponized staffs like bo staffs much harder to find.

Most of the sword_of_hisou posts were arbitrarily tagged by Ay7k. Just a casual glance show variances ranging from light sabers to fire-on-a-handle, none of which are swords in the traditional sense.

How about we just tag weaponized staffs with weapon and staff instead of creating a bajillion combo tags?

Because single weapons at once only happen some of the time.

Okay, you got me; not sure what I was thinking.

...and the whips that are created as weapons foremost?

While we're talking about weapons, do we have a tag yet for many of a weapon? Madoka is creating this sort of situation frequently now, but post #891245 is what really piqued my interest in it by featuring swords far in excess of what she normally wields.

Implications done
brass_knuckles → weapon
tonfa → weapon
morning_star → weapon
warhammer → weapon
energy sword → weapon
lightsaber → energy sword
arm_blade → weapon
jitte → weapon
gunblade → weapon
