Tag Implication: fate/extra_ccc --> fate/extra and fate/stay_night

Posted under General

I must admit I only know a little on this series, but is this really the right approach to implicate them all to fate/stay_night? It seems to me that some of these titles (not necessarily the ones brought up here) would more appropriately be attached to a broader tag set above fate/stay_night, while the fate/stay_night tag itself should probably be constricted to cover those titles in the which there is no real difference between f/sn and the other title (since I'm aware some of the titles were simply alternate routes of the story).

I was thinking the same yesterday but at this point they're so interweaved it would be next to impossible to sort them all into a fate/series umbrella tag without someone knowledgeable going through all of the current images manually, much like the problem we encountered with nanoha.

I don't see much of a point in making a distinction. While Extra takes place in an alternate universe, one of the building blocks of the setting is that the alternate universes coexist. The Archer in Extra is the exact same guy as in the main FSN universe. The Servants summoned in Extra come from the same past as the ones in FSN. Is there really a point to separating the works? So long as Saber_Extra and her variants remain separate from the regular Saber (They're totally different characters), the rest don't really get jumbled up at all.

To get this started I did:

create implication fate/prototype -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/apocrypha -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/extra_ccc -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/strange_fake -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/kaleid_liner_prisma_illya -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/extra -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/unlimited_blade_works -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/unlimited_codes -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/tiger_colosseum -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/zero -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/hollow_ataraxia -> fate_(series)
create implication fate/stay_night -> fate_(series)

As for what sub-implications should exist or continue to exist within the fate_(series) tag I do think fate/zero, fate/hollow_ataraxia, and fate/unlimited_blade_works should still implicate fate/stay_night as they follow a very clear continuity, while fate/extra_ccc should also implicate fate/extra, being a sequel/sidequel.

The others should stay stand-alone with regard to fate/stay_night since their position within the Fate-verse is more nebulous and they aren't as dependent on the original F/SN game.

Meanwhile it might also be a good idea to have fate/unlimited_codes implicate fate/stay_night as well since it derives pretty much all of its character pool and universe elements from that game.

Okay, I removed the existing ones so nothing weird would happen, I can reinstate whatever ones make sense.

We could do it two ways though I guess - leave fate/stay without implications to it, so it can be tagged for things unique to it. Or do all the implications you suggested. Might there be a use in leaving /stay without implications?

I'd go further and create a mega-umbrella tag with all of the shared-setting Nasuverse franchises.

The type-moon tag already exists and is treated as any other studio tags.

Probably not, because looking at the images that only have fate/stay_night as a copyright it seems that most of them are general images of the cast as opposed to ones focusing on specific events within just that game.

fate/unlimited_blade_works could probably be implicated to Fate/Stay_Night because its an adaptation of one the possible routes in the game. Visually, I can't tell the difference between F/UBW and F/SN without cues promotional text.

As for Fate/Hollow_Ataraxia there are definitely new characters like Avenger and Caren Ortensia as well as "variations" of existing characters like Kaleido Ruby that separate it from F/SN. The problem is with existing characters like Rider who received more attention in F/HA and aspects like her more causal attire which spawned or at least became popular in F/HA has become relatively common in artwork.
