Danbooru

Trap 1girl

Posted under General

The current wikis for 1girl, 1boy, and male don't mention traps, so it's hard to tell for sure.

Traps are technically male, but most of the time they are visually female, and Danbooru usually uses a tag-what-you-see policy. Following that policy, it would seem that traps should be tagged as girls unless there's something in the image to give away their actual gender.
But we usually seem to allow gender to be an exception to that policy and tag females as girls and males as boys based on context, without regard for appearance.

It does seem a bit strange to me to tag images which are visually feminine (like post #1355287) with the male tag, but if no one else thinks so I don't really have a problem with it.

If we are going to tag them like this, I think the wikis for xboys/xgirls/male should clarify that they don't care about apparent gender, only actual gender. If we tag them the other way then that should be specified in the wikis. That would hopefully help avoid tagging confusion like this.

Well, okay, so do I have to remove male tag from traps and leave only 1girl or remove 1girl tag and put 1boy? Most of the images is tagged with 1boy. And if something gives away the actual gender, like visible penis or testicles or something like that, it isn't supposed to be a trap in the first place.

Remove the 1girl tag and tag it 1boy. If the character is recognized as male, then we use 1boy. If the character is recognized as female, we tag it 1girl. The character's gender is not something we base simply on what we see. If the character is known to have a default gender, then we tag based on that knowledge. If we based it completely on what was visible it would gut tags like crossdressing, trap, and genderswap (have to use knowledge the character has a gender other than what is depicted to use this tag).

Futanari and newhalf are ambigious, but futanari at least should be still recognized as female, and thus applies to the #girl tags. Both these tags though should only apply if the character's genitals are visible or implied through some other means. Personally I believe newhalf should count as males for the purposes of tagging, but I'll leave that up for discussion at another time.

As a side note, you should be much more careful when applying the #girl tags to images, MarUsca. I'm finding images that you've tagged 1girl when the only character depicted is male (and very clearly male at that) or even cases of yaoi images where the genitals are in full view. The same applies to Danielx21 and Anelaid as well, as I'm finding your names popping up in the tag edits on a lot these images as well that I'm going through. I imagine it's due to rushing through using a tag a script, but there were around 100 images tagged 1girl male solo with most of them being wrong. Also plenty of images under 1girl trap that were mistagged as well.

Just to be clear male =/= masculine, male = has a penis. And male the tag means image dominated with people that have dongs.

It's really that simple, barring third and non-gendered things.

Ehh, I don't really agree. I mean sure most of the time they're just girls with a penis drawn on, but they are technically hermaphrodites which are a distinct sex.

I agree with both parts of this though, so another time.
