Commentaries

Two questions I come across when translating and adding missed original commentaries to some posts.

Should posts with deleted sources where the original commentary isn't present (like post #4964440) still have commentary request?

Should md5 mismatch posts where the original commentary isn't present (like post #4708287) still have commentary request? In this case, can the "current" commentary be added to them, even though it might've been edited by the artist?

commentary request is for untranslated commentaries (unintuitive, yes) so it shouldn't be present on posts with no commentary. Some users will just add it out of habit without checking if there is actually commentary or not. For md5 mismatches it should probably still be added; in some cases you could have multiple commentaries for one image if it's found at multiple sources, as well.

That's for posts with deleted sources as well, right? I think those I come across were added by mistake through scripts.

Thanks.

I do that.

Deleted sources have nothing to do with whether a post has commentary or not. If there is no commentary it shouldn't be tagged commentary request, but in some cases you could find the original commentary through archives or caches if you really want to try to add it.
