Esper is more or less a "profession" tag being tagged on characters like Kageyama Shigeo. It's ostensibly a tag for "people with psychic powers" and half the tag is also tagged psychic.
After aliasing, a bit of clean up on both tags to remove the canon tagging and a recent wave of electrokinesis + esper like post #5268345 from a particular user and it'll be good to go.
There's a few Final Fantasy summons being tagged as this as they were called Espers in Final Fantasy VI

As I noted in forum #206645, that's how the tag was originally used. It wasn't until several years later that folks started mindlessly stuffing the tag with posts where characters use psychic abilities.

There also appears to be images of Trance Tina Branford as well. Not knowledge on the series, but it seems due to the series having magical races/beings called espers in some of their games.
If someone wants to create esper_(final_fantasy), that's their prerogative. I dislike race tags like that since the only real unifying theme between the images is the character tag, but a qualifier would prevent mistags.
From what i'm seeing it wouldn't be a race tag, but rather a sort of "special form" akin to super saiyan?
It's canonically a race, as it applies to the summoned characters, apparently. If you treat it as Tina's special form, it wouldn't even need to be a tag due to the alternate character tag.
So it seems like it wouldn't even really need to be a tag in the first place unless you really wanted people to be able to specifically single out a handful of old summon pics.
tagging tina's alternate form as "esper" comes from the game's plot, since she's the child of a esper and human. If there was actually interest in having a tag for summoned monsters, I wonder if it would make more sense to have a umbrella tag for final fantasy summoned monsters in general.
Final Fantasy summons as a group vary from game to game. In 4 and 9 they were called Eidolins, 8 Guardian Forces, and 15 Astrals. If people want a summons tag, it would have to be something generic like summon_(final_fantasy).

I think psychic is a trash tag too, mostly because it suffers from canon tagging, and that we should be using telekinesis instead, but I suppose it's better to have a single trash tag than two.
Someone still needs to move the final fantasy posts to an appropriate new tag.
