deprecate tied_hair

Posted under Tags

I'm gone for a bit and this chicanery takes place. I don't know how others used this tag, but I used it for hair which was pinned to the head, for example, Darjeeling and Orange Pekoe, to name but a few. By no means should it have been used for any of those hairstyles currently mentioned in the wiki as alternatives. Now there's no way to tag this anymore as far as I am aware of, and so now information will be lost. I'm kind of ticked about this to be honest.

The information was already lost in the mess that is tied hair. There should instead be a specific tag for that kind of hairstyle so that people can actually search for it.

Darjeeling and Pekoe's hairstyle is a type of french braid updo tagging it as just as tied hair is lazy.

so the reason this was approved was because " There's many different tags that should be used instead."
yet all (colored) legwear become aliased to individual colors
I don't understand the double standard of denying something specific then replace it with umbrella tag vs erasing an umbrella tag and telling people to use those specific tag now

and regarding the last thread "Every single post where the hair is not down could be tagged with this. "
AngryZapdos pointed tied hair is not the mutually exclusive to of hair down. if it was only 1 of those is necessary in first place

The plan is also to deprecate the colored legwear umbrella tags eventually and go back to individual tags, like we did with the *_neckwear ones.

Most posts on the site are tied hair. twintails alone is half a million posts, 1/10th of all posts on site. If we want to have an umbrella tag for all of this then it needs to implicate all of the variations first. Having a garbage tag like this instead means people will use that instead of the specific tags.
