Or create a plural -> singular alias. Also fine by me.

I think we should have an alias in one direction or the other since right now we have two tags for the same thing.

If hand in own hair and hand in another's hair are separated, I think we can do the same with hands in own hair and a potential hands in another's hair for images like post #6352593. Hands in hair currently includes both things, perhaps we could follow the example of the "singular hand" tags.

I agree, they should be split.

In that case, does this work as a starting point?

There would still be a lot of gardening that would need to be done by people more dedicated than I (hands_in_another's_hair currently has one post) but it would stop the problem from getting worse and handle the bulk of the easy cases.

Just for the record, I edited the BUR at more or less the same time @Kaleidoscoped voted to fix a typo; previously had "hands_in_own_hair -hand_in_hair" instead of "hands_in_own_hair -hands_in_hair".
