Yes. Spring rider is a simple, unpowered play structure on a playground that the user has to get moving. A kiddie ride on the other hand is electrically powered and usually requires coin input to get moving. It’s usually located outside of a store or inside a mall or maybe some other location that has electricity available.

Okay. We should put that in the kiddie ride wiki.

I noticed a user recently went through and changed a lot of alluka zoldyck posts to 1girl, I'm not familar with the character or series but when I uploaded an image of them a few weeks ago and looked it up to check I read that an official artbook listed the gender as male.

The tags when I uploaded were inconsistent on gender, and I can also see that a lot of trans-themed art of the character was uploaded this week. I'm wondering if something changed or if any HxH fans can help out. Is this a Bridget situation where explicit and general should be tagged differently?

I'd love a wiki, because otherwise i have no clue if this is well-meaning vandalism or something that has always been a part of the character that hasn't been reflected here.

I'm no HxH fan, but according to https://hunterxhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Alluka_Zoldyck#Gender_And_Pronoun_Context they should be referred to as female unless otherwise noted.

Well, @nonamethanks has just changed pretty much all the posts back to 1boy/multiple_boys, though I don’t know if that was intentional or fallout from simply undoing all of that user’s tag changes, regardless of what character they apply to.

Edit: Actually, I guess the change was intentional because it wasn’t just a simple undo. There are dozens of puzzling changes, tho, like 5750632, 48310602 and 48310667.

Updated

I was reverting their edits, and in the process saw that this character was mistagged in many posts, so I fixed it yeah.
Alluka is one of the classic cases of "draw a girl, call it a boy" otoko no kos. Even the official databook mentioned in that wiki page describes the character as a male. IIRC only Killua refers to him as female. Tagging him as female when it was obviously meant to be a boy is stupid, it's like tagging Astolfo as female. The character is obviously (to anyone but Viz' translation team apparently) meant to be a boy, just like the rest of his brothers.

(Also I hadn't finished going through the edits to fix the discrepant ones yet)

Well, there's a reason Killua is the only one in his family who refers to Alluka as female. It's because he's the only one who sees and engages with her as a person, not a tool or a superweapon. He's also extremely emphatic about her gender identity and immediately shuts down anyone who calls her a boy. I'm pretty sure this was an intentional choice on Togashi's part.

Well you can justify it how you want, but the matter of fact is that all of them were born male, and if Kalluto Zoldyck falls under otoko no ko then so does Alluka.

Don't we have an exception for trans characters (when they're presented as their identified gender and not their birth gender)? That was the answer I got when asking about Ienaga Kano a while back.

The only ruling I've seen on the matter was for a specific subset of Bridget posts due to word of the author, as per forum #222668, and it's a pretty big exception to how we've tagged posts in the past. There hasn't been any ruling about other characters as far as I'm aware.

Ienaga Kano if I recall the plot correctly is more like an 1other canonically (he might or might not have chopped his dick off during his crazy cannibalistic experiments, it's ambiguous on purpose because the whole point of the character is to become "beautiful" through sadistic surgery, it's been a while since I followed the series so I don't remember if it was ever clarified), so it's a pretty big difference from Alluka, which is referred to as a boy by everyone in the Zoldyck family including his parents, and for whom there's zero ambiguity on whether there's a dick down there.

The only case where it makes sense to tag Alluka as something other than 1boy would be for Nanika, which would fit under 1other because it's a featureless humanoid being.
