It's ambiguous with Shiranui Flare (Street), which has caused mistags already, so I'm going to steal a page from Holostars per forum #350797 and switch from 'Casual' to (fall/winter), since that seems to be the main vibe they went for it.

Alright, if you insist. After slightly over a month of deliberation with @fairn, we finally came up with this. We identified that about half of the qualifiers in BUR #41634 weren't up to snuff for one reason or another (and also BUR #422850), and I'll list each of them here. Paired with this is also the nth qualifier corrections.

Her 20th costume is referred to as 'sporty' by Mito, and her designer's tweet validates that nickname. Her idol costumes each got name changes based on various elements: her 10th, in the submission tweet, has highlighted her moon choker and the fact that she feels like a princess, so "moon princess" seems like a viable option; that would, however, cause an issue with her 15th costume given its current name, so, following the lead of Inugami Korone (Saikyo Tensai Wonderful World of Korone), we decided it would be best to switch it to the album name instead, with the English subtitle as a utility alias; the remaining idol costume, the 13th, was our biggest hurdle, for now we've gone with "Moon!!" based on the fact that the costume debuted in a music video for the song, though it's iffy because the song predates the costume; anything is better than its current qualifier.

We had no idea where exactly the 12th costume got the name 'Summer Ghost Stories' from, the earliest source appears to be the VTuber Wiki but there's no indication there on where they got it from, so we're opting to switch it to a name more familiar for the costume, Hyakumonogatari, per the streams it is used in. Her 9th and 2nd costumes each have, per current practices, redundant elements: there's no need to specify 'spring' when she has no other maid costumes (and it doesn't have anything spring-y about it either, just being debuted in a spring costume set), and we've had VTubers already who have a (casual) costume with (*_casual) costumes. Japanese viewers don't seem to view her 2nd costume as anything more than just her regular casual look, so 'street' seems unnecessary (also I think we want to avoid trying to fully comprehend what Hololive is trying to do with casual/street/street casual/etc on their end, so keeping it contained to them seems sensible). Finally, the current qualifier for her 5th costume doesn't really explain what it's about, since it is a recreation of a Halloween costume she did IRL; we can't do (halloween) due to her Witch costume, so our only option is rendering the name of her Halloween costume instead, '血吐き少女', or Chihaki-shoujo. Fairn thinks it should be translated as 'Blood-vomiting girl' in the qualifier, but I think it makes more sense to be formatted like Hasshaku-sama and Kuchisake-onna, since it is following that format.

Both fairn and I would appreciate feedback on our qualifier suggestions.

BUR #43133 was only active for discussion for about 5 hours before it got approved, and I think that wasn't productive for discussion. Specifically, the name for her 5th costume is an issue for me. I think the suit bit is redundant when the thing she is is listed in the qualifier, a spy, especially since 'spy suits' can be quite varied. (suit) would be better off as a utility alias.

She seems to say as much in the debut stream, where she initially just planned a suit, but then she decided on a more tactical/hitman-y/girlboss vibe - she even brings up how Lee Chaolan's suit inspired some bits, which further validates the Hitman/Spy connection. So I'll also suggest a (hitman) utility alias.

Damian already knows my views and I want this BUR to go through, but here are a couple of comments on places I mildly disagree with it:

A little bit of romaji is fine but my eyes glaze over with such a long string as (tsuki_no_usagi_ha_virtual_no_yume_wo_miru) so I would prefer using the official English name (moon_rabbits_dream_about_virtual), even though it's awkward Engrish, just to make it easier to remember.

There's really no great name for tsukino_mito_(idol_2.0). Yes it's technically her second implemented idol costume, but it and tsukino_mito_(bunny_idol) both come from the same design contest. It used to be her main and only 3D idol costume, but now tsukino_mito_(moon_rabbit) is her main and it's of course also 3D. In all the streams and official materials I've looked through it's referred to in generic terms like "idol costume", it doesn't seem to have an official name. (Moon!!) is specific but misleading because the song Moon!! came out two years before the music video. The only other distinguishing feature is the way it's clearly based on her default school uniform, so my preference would be for a name based on that but I don't have any good ideas.

This is why the English name is present as a utility alias as a compromise. Why I prefer using the JP name is because, just like the Chinese, the Japanese can engage in the practice of having 'EN names' that probably wouldn't be their names in English were they made with a non-Japanese audience in mind: illustrating my point, the VTuber Wiki calls the album "Moon's Rabbit Sees a Virtual Dream" instead of "Moon Rabbits Dream About Virtual", the track list on the back of the album doesn't mention the 'English name' at all, and neither does the album's Spotify release.

Yeah, we tried multiple options for it. (virtual_idol) based on the contest theme (too ambiguous), (contest_winner) or a variant due to it winning the contest (Moon Princess also 'won', getting a model, and variants always made it too long for a minor costume), (school_idol) based on the school uniform inspiration (loaded term, ambiguous with her album idol costume), (idol_uniform) in that same vein (ambiguous with Nijisanji Idol Uniform, though it would be freed up if topic #31625 were approved)... (moon!!) really was the best option we could think of that didn't make it too ambiguous.

Most of these name changes I'm fine with (save for Moon Rabbit's, that really is kind of a mouthful) but I'm still not sure why the nth qualifiers need to be corrected when all of Mito's outfits have proper names now. If anything that means we should be able to get rid of them entirely.

There's no harm in correcting them, and we have no reason to get rid of them as utility aliases when they were originally named that as tags.

I figured that was the standard (Korone and FWMC's dog forms are implicated as is Nimi's tapir form), adding that in now

I previously rejected Nimi Nightmare (Tapir) because most of the posts treat it as a separate mascot character rather than an alternate form. The same is true for Sameko Saba (Fish).
