Pool #2562 Hyper-Femininity: Expanded Discussion

Posted under General

It should most definitely be deleted. Ambiguous concept that doesn't add anything material when grouped together, the pictures have no particular theme past "hyper-femininity", which depending on how thats defined, could apply to something like half the site.

Summary from pointless pools:

I said a lot of angry stuff because a pool I made got a huge overhaul, but there may be some merit to keeping it.

1. The idea may be specific enough to keep, but it could need some modification. Is it too vague? Should pools allow room for interpretation or should they focus on clarity?

2. The original name was Sugar & Spice. Does it need to be descriptive of the content, or can it be more subtle?

3. While it may not violate pool guidelines howto:pools Trends in pool management imply it should be deleted. Which takes precedence?

4. Should pool creators be notified prior to deletion/modification? Should the community help them make it better, or should they just know better?

5. Am I just whining and butt-hurt because my pool wasn't good?

Well I obviously want to keep the pool, how might the theme be narrowed?

To be honest, I felt that "Sugar & Spice" was a much better name than "Hyper Femininity". So if we decide to keep the pool and specify the definition of it, can we change the name back to that?

I would prefer it. Do you think its definition was too vague though? I had an idea a while ago to call it "Alone in my room" and have it be girls on their beds in exaggeratedly feminine rooms wearing lingerie - like what boys fantasize about. I wanted for it to include more than that though.

I think you might actually have something workable there; post #650543 came immediately to mind with that, and I'm sure there's more that work.

Yeah, that might be workable as a pool.

That however is not the pool we currently have.

I sort of see the theme you're going for and I don't think it's entirely without merit. For stuff like post #636725 or post #843743, girliness is the main point of the picture and that's worth pooling. But for the pool to be useful it's going to need to be seriously pared down. Most of the things currently in it aren't girly enough to be noteworthy, if they're girly at all.

I said I was sorry for quoting you wrong, could you take a little edge off your comments please?

Ok I can see some cleanup and maybe a stipulation that girliness must be obvious and excessive?

Some friendly advice, you need to understand that due the anti-fun policy of Danbooru (that's not a joke) folks around here are generally quite brusque. Therefor you should stop taking such personally offense things, it'll make your stay here much easier.

Just to add to this, think of the forums as a high powered business meeting.

The pool should definitely require some real level of girliness. Hunting through Kamiya Tomoe, I don't think pictures like post #825190 should be included, things like that should really be tagged with pink and don't really need a pool. post #390386 would fit both the pool and the pink tag; frilly, feminine, heels, fully clothed, and lots of ribbons. Fully clothed shouldn't be a requirement, but a pink bikini never really struck me as exceptionally "girly".

I also like the idea of the "room" concept, on a bed with stuffed animals. Very "girly"

Ok, so clean it up. I can do that.

Why you all care so much about something you don't probably use is beyond me, but if Fencedude is any indication... it's likely where you sit. It's like my Freshman PE coach said in high school:
"Whatever floats your boat, whatever side you want the zipper on."

I was right about the sexism ^.^

There's really no need to judge people here. Just because your idea is being debated doesn't mean the people that are against it are against you or the female gender.

The viability of subjective pools has been hotly contested here in the last few months, and a lot of people have a lot of different opinions on what constitutes a useful pool.

We care because we don't need worthless pools with vague and poorly-defined descriptions flooding the pool listing. It's tantamount to spam, and it makes good pools that much harder to find.

And please don't start that sexism shit again. You were doing quite well up until then.
