approval/deletion isn’t affected by frequency. you can upload an infinite number of images and if approvers like them enough they’ll be approved an infinite number of times.

This post by gelbooru, the image in the original twitter link has been deleted by the artist, but I really want to upload this image to danbooru. What is the solution?

Does that mean if I want to upload this image, I can't use the artist's twitter link?

The media asset will keep Gelbooru as the source, but I guess you can in this case, like uploading a bad id sourced before being deleted. Btw, you shouldn't use topic #10525 to ask this.

Wait for someone else to answer you, I'm sorry.

post #6253073 was removed because it wasn't approved. If I uploaded a higher quality version of the image would it pass approval? Because I realize the resolution I shared was particularly poor.

Maybe, I noticed you uploaded a copy of the image from your computer, you should just paste the URL into the upload box instead in the future. Unless the image is only available from 3rd party sources there isn't a reason to not source directly from the artist.

I personally find her arms and legs a bit janky, but I'm not an approver.

I think there's a bit of an optical illusion effect with her arm. It could be better, but I don't think it's ruinous, IMO. Legs, meanwhile, are very clearly exaggerated, akin to the thick thighs tag. Proportions generally come across as coherent to me.

EDIT: Posted with the proper Twitter link. Not a big deal if it gets turned down, but I think it would be nice if Ivy got art showing off her Engaged form as well. Currently, she has none. Something to consider for Engage characters in general.

Where did you get the version without watermarks from?

Hi.

Someone commissioned this work and they shared it with me. How should I approach this? Do I use the version without the watermark or the twitter version?

I'm just an Ivy fan who would like to increase the number of art she has on danbooru.

In that case it is fine to upload just the version without watermark. You should tag it as commission and adding a comment explaining where the file comes from would also be good (I did that for you now).

For this specific image I'm afraid it will not be approved regardless of that, personally I don't like the face and the body proportions look a bit weird in my opinion but that's just me, other approvers might have other reasons for not approving it.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll give it another go, then.

Also, I'm aware that art is subjective, but I didn't think there was a soft rule against art with exaggerated proportions. There's no point in arguing about whether the face is good or not, but I think the anatomy is coherent despite the exaggerated art. I'm just an amateur artist, but it doesn't stand out as that egregious to me.

There's s bigger concern, though. Since this character has 0 art of her in her alternative form, this piece is filling a specific niche here. I would understand if it was regular Ivy art but I think this piece should be uploaded purely for that reason alone. I'm clearly getting ahead of myself though... I understand I'm just a nobody in the grand scheme of things

post #6280184 i was wondering what I could do to get this ost approved? I was told to tag commission and commission_upload is that ok?
But im also wondering if its the artstyle thats wrong?

the head size is very disproportionate to the rest of the body, tits and thighs in particular. guessing that’s why everyone passed on it.

approvals are an interest-based system. if an approver doesn’t like an image enough, they’ll pass on it. images of popular characters/copyrights can help some and provide a greater margin of leniency for minor flaws/dislikes, but this particular one being from an obscure character + weirdly small limbs + “generic big tits 1girl solo image” + blank white background are all elements that lose hypothetical approvers.

also consider that of the ~60 (if my memory serves me right) active approvers only about half will see an image within its three-day modqueue window, so it never hurts to appeal and maybe someone who missed it the first time will sufficiently like it.

I understand this logic, and danbooru was established with the goal of being a digital art archive, but the higher level of curation is what keeps us from turning into a site like sankaku where two legs and a vague semblance of art style passes the bar.

It kind of has to be, since it's going for a cartoony & curvy aesthetic over something mkre realistic. It's in line with how the artist usually draws her characters (usually Peach) so I suppose there's a bit of dissonance.

I don't think it's that egregious. Many of Gurimjang's works have been uploaded, such as this:

with awkward proportions

I wouldn't dare suggest they should go down or that the staff are hypocrites. But I think there should be a bit of leeway towards art that's very clearly intended to have stylized proportions.

there is leeway, it's called unres perms. both these images were uploaded by users with unrestricted uploads (help:users), which means they didn't pass through the queue and are immediately active. you can see that there's no approver field listed where one normally would be.

honestly, those two would probably struggle through the queue as well -- comment #2144664 even jokes about it -- but I don't think they're bad enough to flag.
